What is Reality Security Inventory Coaching?

Reality Security Inventory Coaching is a distinct methodology that fuses the principles of emotional intelligence with detailed feedback from the Reality Security Inventory assessment, which measures ten core areas of psychosomatic needs. This combination creates a foundation for authentic emotional literacy—an understanding not only of what a person feels, but why they feel it, how those emotions shift between their Usual state and Stress. The client-coach relationship is a collaborative, interpersonal experience in which a certified coach uses questions, reflection, and guided exploration to connect a client’s core values, emotional and thought patterns, and lifestyle with personal and professional goals.

As coach and client examine how the client’s psychosomatic needs express themselves under both Usual and Stress conditions, the client begins to see the internal logic of their insecurity: the programmed patterns of thought and behavior that once protected them but now limit their choices. Through this exploration, the client learns to recognize and interpret the emotional signals tied to each psychosomatic need, uncovering the origins of both security and insecurity. With the coach’s support, the client then designs personalized interventions that interrupt old reactions, shift long-standing habits, and build new thoughts and emotional responses through free will choices that are aligned with core values and belief systems.

This process empowers clients to reprogram their internal operating system with conscious intention and free will. As they grow familiar with the mechanics of their emotional and thinking landscape, they develop the ability to transform stressful moments—those old triggers of insecurity—into opportunities for stability, clarity, and grounded action. The ultimate aim is not just resolution in a given moment but the cultivation of an enduring capacity to convert insecurity into inner security, making emotional steadiness a natural outcome rather than a distant aspiration.  This provides the foundation for growing and deep resilience.

This richer understanding of the self becomes a springboard for more purposeful decision-making, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of agency in both personal and professional life.

This Coaching Certification Program is a specialized training course that is divided into three sections of 3 months each of learning:

Phase 1: Reality Security Inventory consultations, biweekly training sessions, individual coaching

Phase 2: Reality Security Inventory seminar attendance with observation and participation, and

Phase 3: Client Coaching using the Reality Security Inventory

These phases of development do not follow a specific timeline, although they are relatively sequential. Students must gain the necessary competencies to become adept and effective coaches. However, the phases may be intertwined based on the student's learning patterns.

All coaching skills taught are directed toward client growth and healing transformations. This requires goal-directed coaching to achieve client outcomes aligned with their aspirations. The bonus for the coach is that they, too, will grow and heal while coaching others.

Competencies to be developed: All competencies are related to the practice of coaching directed toward the ten (10) psychological needs/traits within the Reality Security Inventory.  They will automatically come into development as the student moves forward in the process outlined below:

  • Depth of knowledge of the ten (10) psychological traits as they relate to oneself and others.
  • Knowledge of one’s own patterns of thought and behavior
  • Recognition of other people’s patterns of thought and behavior
  • Mental skills in identifying the ten (10) psychological needs/traits in oneself and others under usual and stress conditions.
  • Listening Skills
  • Communication skills that relate directly to the ten (10) psychological needs/traits
  • Flexibility is adapting to the client's needs while maintaining a sense of self and boundaries.

  • Telling the truth with honesty, compassion, and support
  • Learning to adapt to clients' needs while addressing the accomplishment of goals on time
  • Identifying and healing one’s judgments concerning the characteristics of the ten (10) psychological needs/traits in self and others.
  • Learning to transform personal judgements into an appreciation and value of differences.

Phases of Program:

Phase 1: Three months:   This training phase builds the skills and confidence in understanding the depth and consistency of characteristics embodied within the ten (10) psychological traits represented within the Reality Security Inventory.   Included in this phase of training are the following:

  • Attend bi-weekly training sessions (6) to learn how to conduct Reality Security Inventory consultations with competence, connection, and accuracy.
  • Individual coaching sessions (3)
  • Conducting twenty (20) Reality Security Inventory consultations.

Phase 2: Three months: The Reality Security Inventory Seminar contains abundant knowledge about personality, its correlation to achievement, and how it relates to the ten (10) psychological traits of the Reality Security Inventory.  Included in the requirements for this phase of study are the following:

  • Attend at least two (2) Reality Security Inventory seminars or two completions of the Individual Self-Study Chrysalis Pod I seminar with a written self-assessment for each experience. This activity provides a framework for integrating the knowledge base of the ten (10) psychological traits into the experience of building personal skills that lead to individual and/or organizational growth.
  • Building observation skills is critical to successful coaching. Attending a seminar builds observation skills while learning about the nature of human behavior within the student body as it relates to the ten (10) psychological traits within the Reality Security Inventory. Self-assessments will be required after each seminar.
  • Continued attendance at bi-weekly training sessions (6, 2-hour sessions).
  • A debriefing session after attending the Reality Security Inventory seminars helps the student identify confusing or misunderstood events within the seminar.
  • Individual Coaching sessions (3, 2-hour sessions)

Phase 3: Three months - The basics of all the skills necessary to coach with competence will have been acquired.

This phase involves aligning those talents with the client's needs.  As a result of students building clients during Phase 1 of this program, clients may request more problem-solving and desire specific changes in their lives.  Students will now put their coaching into practice as interns.  During this phase of training, the following activities will be included:

  • Continued attendance at the bi-weekly coaching sessions (6, 2-hour sessions)
  • Individual Coaching Sessions (3, 2-hour sessions)
  • Students working as interns with Mindful Mastery, LLC, as they develop coaching skills with their client base.
